The Hunchback

This is the HUNCHBACK
one of my latest figurines and I was wondering if you would give me your opinion in him.

When I was little...................... I wanted to be an Artist.

When I was eight years old I sold my first piece of art, it was just before Thanksgiving. I had colored a lady and man pilgrim I took it to the mom and pops dohnut shop just down the street from where I grew up, I asked the baker man if he would like to buy my pictures, he took my pictures and paid me with my favorite PB&J dohnut. Then he hung my pictures in his window.

Artist's Statement

Kathys Art: Sahuarita, AZ, United States; Born and raised in central Washington, I started out in a crafty family, I am third generation artsy girl! My mother and Grandmother were both a big influence in my art. I helped my mother make cloth dolls as a young adult. I restored antique dolls, and designed my own. As I grew older my interest range widened. I floated in and out of passions. I went on to discover watercolors and acrylic paints, When I combined techniques with home made paper clay the results were surprising and fun. My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas I have about myself and the world I live in. I am a sculptor , a painter, a furniture restorer, an artist. I've been working with both paint and paper clay since the mid 90's. I know art doesn't have to be functional and can just be what it is, but making something that is functional, interesting, pleasing to the viewer and holds their gaze then I have succeeded in my work. I use sculpture in my art chairs it is challenging and a never ending source of inspiration. All artwork copyright protected. © 2009-2019 Kathleen Hall All Rights Reserved

Thank You

To all who have supported me in my time of needed inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by

I've been asked to make custom designs from time to time. A young woman had a pet Tabby cat, she got him when she was a small child, he lived a long life and passed, she wanted something special to remember him something unique, a figurine, so I made one for her. When I make something I put a lot of thought into it, it makes me happy knowing they are enjoying something I created. I like creating, it's relaxing like a form of meditation. . . . . I call it my "me time".
